The conservative world was shocked when Sarah Palin was “fired” from Fox News without much explanation from either party. Now, Palin has finally come forth with some details about what happened.
During an interview with CBN News over the weekend, Palin said she was fired for calling someone out, but never stated who it was.
Many have speculated that it might have been Fox News star Megyn Kelly, who has annoyed some conservatives in the past by feuding with Donald Trump.
Kelly has not been afraid to take on liberals or conservatives, annoying both sides from time to time. However, if true, this would be the first time we know of that another on-air personality lost a position directly because of Kelly.
“Some things happened that I haven’t talked about publicly, mentioned a little bit about them in the book (“Sweet Freedom: A Devotional”), things like getting canned from a job I really liked, kinda sorta out of the blue, because I called somebody out,” Palin stated.
“It was a shock, but more power to Fox News. As a private enterprise they can fire somebody for wearing the wrong color tie that day,” she continued. “I have a great relationship with them. It was just kind of a little bit of a shocker of knowing that the haters are going to love this one.”
Fox News declined to comment on Palin’s comments other than to state that Palin was not fired; her contract was simply not renewed.
The network also noted that the “vast time differences” with Alaska sometimes made things difficult.
People who don’t like Kelly — including many Trump supporters — are most likely going to jump on this as further proof of how “anti-conservative” the Fox News host is.
