When a loved one is taken away, especially under tragic circumstances, a headstone becomes a sacred marker…
When Milazzo’s daughters went to visit their mother at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving, Texas, they, along with Milazzo’s sister, Kathleen Wood, were horrified when they discovered that her headstone was missing. Her grave site was nothing more than a mound of dirt.
“They wanted to visit, and this is what they came to,” Wood explained to a local news outlet. “You just don’t take the headstone away … it’s desecration.”
Wood claimed that cemetery workers removed the headstone due to a non-payment issue, which Wood claimed she wasn’t aware of until after the memorial was removed, citing poor communication from Oak Groves Memorial Garden’s management.
