An Argentine police officer is counting his blessings this year, and he knows exactly who to thank for them.
Officer Felipe Rebollo was on a foot patrol at night last fall when he was nearly fatally shot in the chest. His saving grace?
The Bible he carried in his uniform pocket.
According to Dio Con Noi, Rebollo was on patrol near the neighborhood of Belgrano in northern Argentina when he was approached by two men in a car. The men began calling Rebollo by his name.
As Rebollo started to approach the car, one of the men pulled out a gun and shot him in the chest. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
While operating on him, the doctors found the small Bible that stopped the bullet from entering his chest. Thanks to that Bible and the skill of the doctors who operated on him, Rebollo left the hospital with only minor injuries.
Members of Facebook had plenty to say as they expressed their support for the officer.
