UK terror attack ‘highly likely’ as security stepped up British ports and major events
BORDER security and police checks at major public events in the UK will be stepped up in the wake of the Paris terror attacks, Britain’s most senior counter-terrorism officer has said.
Mark Rowley, the Metropolitan Police’s assistant commissioner for specialist operations, said extra police officers and extra checks would be in place at ports and events in big cities across the country.The UK’s official terror threat level is already at “highly likely” – the second highest it can be – the Cobra meeting called by Prime Minister David Cameron will consider whether to raise it further….
