Talk about a close call. Things could have been a lot different for this passenger.
An Uber driver from Kalamazoo, Michigan who went on a shooting spree Saturday night picked up passengers in between incidents, and what he said to one witness is super eerie.
Check this out.
From Western Journalism:
Tensions were high in Kalazmazoo, Mich., Saturday night when a man climbed in the car of the Uber driver who stopped to pick him up. There had been one shooting, and police were on the lookout for the gunman.
The man, who gave NPR his middle name of Derek as a shield against possible retribution for telling his tale, told it this way: “I jokingly said to the driver, ‘You aren’t the shooter, are you?’ and he either shook his head or said no, and I said, ‘Are you sure?’ And his response wasn’t like you would expect, like a laugh. It was just very calm and quiet. It was, ‘I’m just tired. No, I’m just tired.’”
About half an hour after the conversation, Jason Dalton, the Uber driver who was working that night for the ride-sharing service, was arrested in connection with the shooting deaths of six people.
So that’s utterly terrifying, wouldn’t you agree?
Six people died in the shootings, which appeared to target random individuals.
We live in a fallen world corrupted by sin with all sorts of darkness weaving in and out of people’s lives.
Prayers go out to the families who lost loved ones. Hopefully justice will be served in this case and they can get closure that will help them heal from the pain of their unfathomable loss.
