Safe to say, New York Daily News columnist Linda Stasi isn’t the biggest fan of the National Rifle Association.
“State Department must list gun-loving NRA as terrorist organization,” blared the headline of Stasi’s most recent column over the weekend. She argues that because more civilians are killed by guns in the United States than by many terrorist organizations, the NRA should be added to the government’s list of state-sponsored terror organizations.
“Between 2012 and 2015, according to University of Maryland’s Global Terrorism Database, ISIS has murdered approximately 12,138 civilians, Boko Haram,10,092, the Taliban 9,427 and Hamas, 85,” Stasi writes. “In that time, Americans have murdered or spree killed via gun and assault rifle, 87,423 people in the United States.”
