Even if you don’t support Donald Trump, you’re going to love this.

It appears presidential candidate Donald Trump is already going back and forth with Mexican officials regarding a wall on the U.S. southern border — and he isn’t even the Republican nominee, much less the president.

According to CNBC, when former Mexican President Felipe Calderon was asked about Mexico funding the proposed wall, he simply said, “Mexican people, we are not going to pay any single cent for such a stupid wall! And it’s going to be completely useless.”

Trump’s response was perfect in just about every way, and it was pure Donald Trump: “Now the wall just got taller.”

Of course, it should be noted that this was a former president who said that the wall wouldn’t be built. That would like former President George W. Bush speaking for President Barack Obama. Unless Calderon was a plant by Mexico’s administration, his comments probably don’t mean much.

Additionally, Calderon’s followup comment showed a lack of knowledge regarding our illegal immigration problem — which really took off under his tenure.

“The first loser of such a policy would be the United States,” he said. “If this guy pretends that closing the borders to anywhere either for trade (or) for people is going to provide prosperity to the United States, he is completely crazy.”

That’s an interesting comment, given that Donald Trump has never proposed a full shutdown of the southern border, but a significant increase in security and protection. In fact, he said there would be “big, beautiful doors” to allow everyone who wants to come through — legally — to do so.
