Trump is proving to be unstoppable.

Donald Trump is crushing the Republican field in South Carolina, more than doubling his closest competitor ahead of the primary on Feb. 20, according to a new poll.

Trump laps the field with 34.5 percent support in the South Carolina House Republican Caucus poll, followed by Sen. [score]Ted Cruz[/score] (R-Texas) with 15.5 percent support, former Florida governor [score]Jeb Bush[/score] with 13 percent support, and Sen. [score]Marco Rubio[/score] with 12.5 percent support.

Ohio Gov. [score]John Kasich[/score] (R) places fifth with 8.5 percent support, followed by retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson with 5 percent support.

Eleven percent of respondents remain undecided before the state’s Feb. 20 primary.

Trump leads among Republicans of all ideological stripes, winning pluralities of self-identified conservatives, moderates, independents and libertarians.

He also narrowly edges Cruz among those who say they are in the Tea Party by a 37 to 36 margin.

The state is expected to be a crucial stop in the Republican primary process, with Trump still riding high after his resounding win in Tuesday’s New Hampshire primary. Should he post another strong win in South Carolina, his march to the nomination might be hard to stop.
