Since the San Bernardino terror attack, President Barack Obama has intimated that he would use the situation for another Constitution-destroying series of executive actions, this time on gun control.
Now, Politico has reported that the president’s upcoming executive actions on gun control would force most private sellers, no matter how small, to obtain a Federal Firearms License and perform background checks on any buyer, no matter how well they know them.
This, of course, could force them out of business.
As Breitbart pointed out, this won’t do away with the so-called “gun show loophole” — a mostly illusory concept, anyway — and it won’t do anything but make it harder for law abiding citizens to buy and sell guns.
“Obama will tighten the definition of what it means to be ‘engaged in the business’ of firearms sales,” Politico reported.
Previously, a seller needed to get an FFL only if their gun selling was for “principal objective of livelihood and profit.” Now, however, those who sell as a hobby would also be forced to obtain an FFL.
The executive actions have been crafted by the president and his aides over a period of time and have been specifically designed to dodge the Constitution and federal law as much as possible.
In addition, the president met with anti-gun zealot and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg behind closed doors to go over the possibility of executive actions.
Of course, none of these actions would have prevented any of the major attacks President Obama is using as the pretense for enacting his gun control regulations. Nor is there any evidence that this would prevent crime. But that’s not the point, is it?
After all, as former Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel once said, “You never let a serious crisis go to waste.” And while the terrorism crisis exposed by the San Bernardino attacks may not be preventable by gun control, it’s a perfect excuse for Barack Obama to enact his unconstitutional agenda.
