Liberals don’t like hearing this. In fact, openly gay actors are telling him to shut up.
Matt Damon, the talent behind some of Hollywood’s greatest films, has Hollywood now abuzz over comments he made in an interview with The U.K. Guardian on Sunday. What he asserted has liberal Hollywood going insane.
During the interview, Damon stated that actors are better when people know less about their personal lives, and for that reason he believes that gay actors would have a better career if they stayed in the closet.
The “Good Will Hunting” actor spoke about the early days of his career, when some critics claimed that he and Ben Affleck were gay. He worried about how those rumors would affect his career.
“I don’t want to, like (imply) it’s some sort of disease — then it’s like I’m throwing my friends under the bus,” Damon stated. “But at the time, I remember thinking and saying, Rupert Everett was openly gay and this guy — more handsome than anybody, a classically trained actor — it’s tough to make the argument that he didn’t take a hit for being out.”
“I think it must be really hard for actors to be out publicly,” Damon continued, “But in terms of actors, I think you’re a better actor the less people know about you period. And sexuality is a huge part of that. Whether you’re straight or gay, people shouldn’t know anything about your sexuality because that’s one of the mysteries that you should be able to play.”
Damon is still coming under fire, even though he included straight actors in his comments. The “gay agenda” folks latched onto the actor’s comments and sent Hollywood into a feeding frenzy.
