She didn’t see this coming!
Hillary Clinton has been hoping to woo voters to her with promises of increased gun control should she be elected president. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be working too well for her.
Reuters reported that an increasing number of black pastors are supporting being allowed to carry firearms in churches to prevent the type of mass shooting that shocked then nation in Charleston, South Carolina, this past summer, in defiance of Clinton’s position on guns.
Bishop Ira Combs is one of many black pastors who are calling for firearms to be allowed inside churches.
“If they had security, the assailant would not have been able to reload,” Combs stated, speaking of Charleston. “All of us here are not going to turn the other cheek while you shoot us.”
Combs has several undercover security guards in his church. Members of the congregation do not know who is armed and who isn’t, and that is the point, Combs said.
“We aren’t looking to engage people in violence, but we are going to practice law enforcement,” Combs said. “And we are going to interdict if someone comes in with a weapon.”
While many pastors may be in favor of this, convincing the congregation to accept armed citizens in churches is a whole different ball game.
“Church is supposed to be a sacred place. Telling your congregation that we need to have armed security during the service, it’s not something that is easy to do,” said John Ojeisekhoba, the owner of a security consulting firm.
Pastors are defending their decisions from those who criticize it, stating that God wouldn’t want people to be defenseless in the face of evil.
