‘I certainly would sit down and discuss it’
Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson said on the day of the New Hampshire primary that he was open to serving as vice president under another candidate, specifically saying that he would be willing to sit down and discuss it with Donald Trump.
According to Mediaite, Cavuto first asked Carson if he would ever consider a vice presidential nomination.
“I would have to have major philosophical alignment with whoever it was,” Carson explained. “I would have to have guarantees that I could do some substantial things.”
Furthermore, Carson stated he “wouldn’t have any problem” running alongside any of the other Republican candidates, “as long as there is significant philosophical alignment.”
