One voter asked Bush in Iowa on Thursday to identify his biggest mistake as governor — a question unrelated to his family, and instead focused on his record. As Bush began to answer, though, another member of the audience interrupted, seemingly to mention his family or, in particular, his brother. “That’s not a mistake,” he told the voter. “I’m proud of my family.”

“Well I can understand you being proud of your dad,” the woman said of the 41st president. Bush reiterated, as he always has on the campaign trail, that he is “proud of both of them.” He has often said that he is his “own man.”
