“It’s not surprising that he’s gotten a lot of attention.”

CBS’ Steve Kroft asked the president what he thought about Trump. “Well, I think that he is a great publicity-seeker,” he said, adding, “He is, you know, the classic reality TV character and, at this early stage, it’s not surprising that he’s gotten a lot of attention.”

Asked if he thought Trump’s candidacy was running out of steam, Obama replied, “You know, I’ll leave it up to the pundits to make that determination. I don’t think he’ll end up being president of the United States.”

The billionaire candidate responded to Obama’s prognostication on Fox and Friends Monday morning, saying that “in all fairness,” the leader of the Democrat Party could never say, “I think he’s going to be the next president.”

Overall, Trump found Obama’s 60 Minutes interview “sad” and “negative.”
