When Philadelphia Police Officer Joe Leighthardt stepped into a local Starbucks to use the restroom, he encountered a snotty little blond liberal who rudely and condescendingly told him that the restroom is “for paying customers only.”

The upstanding officer tried asking politely to use the restroom, but she continued lecturing him in a loud and disrespectful tone and even went so far as to recommend that he go use some other restroom down the street.

When Leighthardt realized that the ignorant girl was clearly trying to embarrass him, he skedaddled, though not without first wondering why on Earth nobody else in the establishment had stood up for him.

He and his fellow officers had been called to that particular Starbucks numerous times in the past to deal with disturbances, meaning that he was a lot more than a paying customer — he was the reason that store hadn’t yet been demolished by thugs.

Officer Leighthardt then shared his tale on Starbuck’s Facebook page on Friday, where it quickly went viral, garnering over 5,000 likes and 18,000 shares by Tuesday morning.

Sorry. No data so far.

According to Mad World News, someone from Starbucks’ corporate department contacted Officer Leighthardt and told him, “We are aware of this situation, and it is certainly not in line with the experience we want any of our customers to have in our stores.”

The representative also claimed that Starbucks is “taking all necessary steps to ensure this doesn’t happen in the future.”
