The invitations for the CNN GOP Presidential Debate, which will be held on September 16 at the Reagan Library, have been sent out. They were sent by former First Lady Nancy Reagan, the widow of President Ronald Reagan. Although there are 17 Republican candidates, only 16 invitations were given.

The CNN debate requires that each candidate participating have averaged at least 1-percent of support in three national polls before September 10. There was additional criteria that each candidate had to meet, as well, in order to receive an invite.

The sixteen invited GOP candidates are Donald Trump, Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, Mike Huckabee, Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Chris Christie, John Kasich, Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Bobby Jindal, Carly Fiorina, Lindsey Graham and George Pataki.

Left out of this debate is former Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore.
